About York House London
History of York House London
The York House London was established in 1950 and named by Edmund of Langley. He was the fifth son of Edward III and the duke of York in 1385. His opponent at this time was Henry VI of the House of Lancaster.
The result of their rivalry was the Wars of the Roses. The wars got their name because the roses were known to be the badge of the House of York. The white and the red roses were later attributed to the House of Lancaster.
